Answer: After receiving the Admission Notice and Foreign Student Visa Application Form JW201 or JW202, you can apply for the Student Visa (X1 or X2 visa) at the Chinese embassy or consulate. Students who come to study for 180 days or more are required to hold X1 visa. Students who come to study for less than 180 days are required to hold X2 visa. Currently, the Student Visa is not obtainable due to the COVID-19 response. |
Question: What to do with my visa after arriving at China？

Answer: The X1 visa is only valid for 30 days after your first entry. Please apply for a residence permit with relevant documents within 30 days following the instructions here: https://ipo.wh.sdu.edu.cn/enistudy/info/1005/2033.htm. If the X1 visa expires, the residence would be illegal. The expiry date of X2 visa is subject to the date indicated on the visa (normally 150 days), it will become invalid after exit. |
