II. Application
1. Number of exchange students: as per the exchange agreement between two universities
2. Exchange period: one or two semesters. Enrollment is available in both the spring and fall semester.
3. Target audience: undergraduates
4. Entry requirements
There is no requirement for studying Chinese language.
For academic courses, applicants must meet the following requirements:
(1) GPA: 70/100, 2.3/4.0
(2) Year of study
At the undergraduate level, applicants should have completed the equivalent of at least one year of full-time study in the program in which they are enrolled at their home university.
(3) Applicants must be enrolled as regular students in a partner university and not have graduated from their home universities before completing the study at SDUW.
(4) Language proficiency
Chinese-taught academic courses: HSK Level 4 and above (in principle)
English-taught academic courses: TOEFL iBT score of 80/IELTS score of 6.0 or above (in principle)

8. Online Application
Applicants must log in to the SDUW Online Application System for International Students (http://apply.wh.sdu.edu.cn)in order to apply. The application information should be fully filled in and required documents have to be uploaded. No paper application documents need to be sent through the post.
9. Application materials
Applicants must log into the SDUW Online Application System for International Students (http://apply.wh.sdu.edu.cn)in order to apply and upload the following documents:
(1) Passport-sized photo (with white background, 640*480m, JPG)
(2) Information page of your passport (passport validity should be 6 months or above)
(3) Official enrollment certificate in English/Chinese issued by home university
(4) Official up-to-date transcripts in English/Chinese issued by home university
(5) Nomination letter from the International Office in English/Chinese (no requirement for the format)
(6) Personal Statement including study plan in English/Chinese (please download the template from: https://ipo.wh.sdu.edu.cn/cnistudy/info/1008/1621.htm).
(7) Physical Examination Record for Foreigner. Applicants should undergo the examination strictly according to the required items stated in the “Foreigner Physical Examination Form” (please download the template from: https://ipo.wh.sdu.edu.cn/kristudy/info/1008/1545.htm). Incomplete forms or forms without signature of the attending physician, hospital stamp, and stamped photo will not be accepted. Please ensure the physical examination remains valid during the application as the result is valid for only 6 months.
(8) Proof of language proficiency (if applicable)
Note: The SDUW Online Application System will no longer be accessible after the deadline. To prevent a situation where applicants are unable to submit supplementary materials, applicants are advised to complete the application at least two weeks before the deadline.
10. Application Instructions
(1) All the uploaded documents must be in Chinese, English or Korean. Please scan the application documents in color using a scanner. Images captured by mobile phones or cameras will not be accepted. Handwritten documents will not be accepted with the exception of the Foreigner Physical Examination Form and signatures.
(2) Incomplete applications will not be processed.
III. Application
Admission results can be checked through the SDUW Online Application System. The results for the spring semester will be announced before mid-to-late December. Shandong University, Weihai will issue an electronic admission letter and the Confirmation Form for Study in China (referred to as JW201/202 form) or Information Form for Foreign Students Short term Visit (DQ Form for short) to the admitted students..
* The electronic version of Admission Notice will be sent to the International Office of students’ home university, and the Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW201/202) or Information Form for Foreign Students Short term Visit (DQ Form for short) will be sent to the admitted applicants through their email boxes.
IV. Schools & Course Registration
Course load per semester: Exchange students usually take 3 to 5 courses per semester (subjected to home university’s approval). There is no minimum mandatory number of courses to be registered, but a student can register for the maximum of 24 credits per semester.

Academic transcripts: official transcripts will usually be sent to the International Office of students’ home university in late August for spring semester.
V. Accommodation
On-campus accommodation will be provided for exchange students. No application is needed.
VI. Fees
Tuition fee: The tuition fee of Shandong University, Weihai will be waived for exchange students conforming with the exchange agreements. Students still need to pay tuition fees to their home university.
Accommodation: 33 RMB/single bed/day/person, subject to change
Living cost: 1,000-2,000 RMB per month, varying with each individual
VII. Medical Insurance
According to the regulations of the Chinese Ministry of Education, international students coming to China must purchase medical insurance in Chinese mainland. The medical insurance fee is 800 RMB per year per person. Students who have not purchased medical insurance will not be registered (please log in to http://www.lxbx.net for insurance contents and claims procedures).

VIII. Visa
Admitted students must apply for a study visa at the Chinese Embassy/Consulate in their countries of residence with the electronic version of Admission Notice and the Confirmation Form for Study in China (JW201/202) or Information Form for Foreign Students Short term Visit (DQ Form for short). International students who will study in China for less than 6 months should apply for the X2 Visa. International students who will study in China for more than 6 months are required to obtain the X1 visa. To stay in China legally, it is mandatory to apply for the Residence Permit within 30 days of arrival in China.
IX. Airport-pickup
