According to the regulations of the Ministry of Education of the People's Republic of China and those of Shandong University, all international students of SDUW are required to purchase the Comprehensive medical insurance in mainland China (hereinafter referred to as the medical insurance). Medical insurance will be purchased by the CSC for CSC full-time scholarship students and the remaining students are required to pay by themselves, otherwise SDUW will not allow enrollment. International students who purchase medical insurance can enjoy the related claims service after illness, injury or hospitalization, otherwise they will pay the full medical expenses.
1. How to buy medical insurance?
(1) CSC full scholarship students
After enrollment, CSC full scholarship students’ insurance will be bought by the CSC unified once confirmed by SDUW.
(2) The rest of the international students
The rests of the international students are required to purchase insurance at their own expenses.

2.What is included in the medical insurance?
(1) Out-patient treatment
In accordance with the provisions of the social medical insurance department of Shandong Province, in case the amount exceeds 650 RMB, the exceeding part will be paid by the medical insurance payments in the proportion of 85%, as long as it is an allowable, necessary and reasonable medical expenses, and the daily cost of outpatient shall not be over 600 RMB. As to the cost of health care drugs, cosmetic correction, physical examination, and getting the right lenses for one's eyeglasses and other non-category treatment can not be reimbursed.
In the event of a serious illness or chronic illness before this insurance is paid, the insurance company shall not be liable for the payment of insurance premiums.
(2) Accidental injury
If the medical expenses incurred by an international student who is treated in outpatient treatment or accident, the medical expenses will be paid in accordance with the medical expenses that may be reimbursed by the local social medical insurance department within 180 days from the date of the accident.
(3) Hospitalization
International students who have been diagnosed by the hospital to be hospitalized for accidental injury or illness, the reasonable inpatient medical expenses will be paid in the proportion of 100%.
The insurance company shall not be liable for the payment of the insurance benefit if the student has a serious illness or chronic disease before the insurance is effected.
(4) Death / disability
International students in SDUW will accrue death benefit or accident benefit to death or accidental disability.

3.Where to see a doctor?
If international students in SDUW need treatment, please go to the public hospital for treatment. The reason is that treatment in private hospitals can not obtain insurance claims. The main public hospitals in Weihai include:

Hospital emergency medical treatment and accidental injury shall first be paid by the international students themselves, and then claim for insurance company according to the requirements after; if hospitalization is needed, he or she shall apply for hospitalization, by calling 4008105119 within 24 hours. If they are in accordance with the claim requirements, you will be provided with the appropriate medical, hospital counseling and medical expenses advance or guarantee services.
4.How to obtain insurance claims?
